DZ DRIVER/LOADER

Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 5:00pm

Rate:

$31.97 per hour, (overtime after 9 hours daily)

Responsibilities:

• The DZ Driver/Loader at Miller Waste Systems is responsible for various waste stream residential collections.

• This may include Yard Waste collection, Blue Box and/or Green Bin collection and Residential garbage collection.

• You will provide customers with reliable and high-quality customer service as the proper disposal of the waste streams are vital to the health and well-being of the residents of the community that you are servicing.

• You will collect various waste streams to be delivered to local Transfer stations, Compost Facilities or landfill sites in an efficient and appropriate manner.

• You will do this while adhering to the collection and delivery schedule while following all relevant policies and procedures of the Company, the MTO, Ministry of Environment as well as the by-laws of the Municipality in which you are working. Failure to adhere to safety policies and procedures may lead to property damage, injury, or loss of life.

• You will perform equipments checks and respond to service requests or issues as needed.

• You will work as a part of a team to maintain the cleanliness of the work area and yard and maintain and assist in routine maintenance for the fleet of trucks, sweepers and trailers for the location as part of the daily activities and ensure that all equipment is in good working order at all times.

• You will perform road inspections of collection routes to identify any areas of concern or potential hazards and ensure the cleanup of any spills as may be required and report back to supervisor as required.

• You will ensure that all vehicle inspections are completed as per the MTO and proper documentation of all routes, activities and any incidents are completed upon return to the location at the end of each shift.

• You may also perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid class DZ driver’s license,.

• High School Diploma or equivalent Education.

• Minimum of 3 years' of experience in solid waste collection industry and/or Workplace Safety and Health.

• Be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in both French and English.
