The job of social worker more specifically involves prevention, screening and intervention with students who are experiencing or likely to experience sexual violence. The incumbent must be available to work outside the regular schedule in case of a crisis intervention.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide social work services to Heritage College students

• Provide individual and group counselling, support, crisis intervention and guidance to students

• Provide assessment of student needs, including crisis intervention

• Develop and deliver prevention and awareness programs on sexual violence

• Maintain a professional and confidential demeanor and practice

• Maintain a professional working relationship with other professionals in the community

• Perform other related duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work

• Minimum of three years of experience in direct service to individuals who have experienced sexual violence

• Knowledge of and experience with the provision of sexual violence support services, specifically One-Stop services

• Experience in community development and outreach work

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently

• Commitment to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, youth, and vulnerable adults

• Police record check
