Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Retirement Home Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

• Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring residents' safety and comfort.

• Support meal preparation and feeding, meeting residents' nutritional needs.

• Monitor residents’ health, report changes to healthcare professionals.

• Offer emotional support and companionship.

• Assist with light housekeeping duties.

• Engage residents in meaningful activities.

• Adhere to health, safety, and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Valid PSW certification or equivalent.

• Previous experience in a retirement home or long-term care facility is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care tasks.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

• First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).

• Criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening required.
