Position Information
This position will require occasional night rotations for ECMO support.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, weekends, 8 hour shifts. Must be available for stand by and call back on evenings, nights, weekends, and stat holidays.

Basic Requirements
- Successful completion of post-graduate program in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology from an accredited institution;
- Current certification with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion (CSCP) and/ or the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP);
- Non-certified candidates meeting equivalent educational requirements and ABCP certified candidates must have current approval of eligibility from the CSCP Board of Directors to challenge the National Examination; and this examination must be successfully completed within 1 year of hire;
- Three years recent related experience in Cardiovascular Perfusion;
- Good understanding of perfusion related mechanical and electrical technology;
- Experience and ability to supervise/lead/coach/mentor;
- Good understanding of computer applications and experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;
- Superior written and verbal communication skills;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work in challenging work environment and stressful situations;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pediatric Cardiovascular Perfusion;
- Recent experience with a variety of mechanical circulatory support devices including intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and ventricular assist devices (VADs);
- Experience working with variety of cardiac surgery procedures;
- Experience in professional teaching and training;
- Experience in medical research activities/ projects/ presentations;
- Prior experience working as other health care professional in acute care setting;
- Related graduate level of university education;
- Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
